Interacts with current and prospective Met-MAX customers by phone, e-mail and during visits to customers’ plants.
Provides quotations, negotiates prices, and schedules orders using the various communication systems.
Determines priority of accounts along with Met-MAX management.
Evaluates vendor’s quotes, programs, and services to determine if they are compatible with company objectives.
Negotiates, purchases and acquires materials, equipment, supplies, labor, and machining services for manufacturing requirements.
Maintains purchasing information; ensures accuracy and delivery performance as well as monitors quality of goods and services by reviewing cost and conformance to specification.
Commands knowledge of factors relating to commodities purchased and their function in National’s product.
Communicates with and satisfies the needs of both external and internal customers.
Other duties as may be assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
2 or 4-year degree in business/engineering or industry experience
Must be a self-starter and aggressive with a sense of urgency about working to schedules.
Strong technical communication skills with the ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, and shop sketches.
Knowledge of manufacturing, machine tool capabilities, planning, scheduling, routing, and GD&T
Proficient in personal computer skills, Microsoft Excel, and Access.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong knowledge of BAAN operating system
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Office and shop environments.
